Notification Requirements

Notification requirements for UK Border Agency (Customs and Immigration) and Police (Special Branch)

For Common Travel Area (CTA) and international arrivals and departures, Coventry Airport requires a completed General Aviation Report (GAR) form (downloadable from the UK Border Agency website here) must be completed and sent to the Airport Operations department via fax or e-mail where a member of our team will forward it on to the relevant authorities on your behalf.

NOTE: Airport Operations will always pass GARs on to the relevant authorities when received during our normal working hours (0700-0100 Mon-Fri and 0900-1900 Sat & Sun). However, outside of these hours, please send your GARs directly to the authorities as well as the airport to ensure that requisite notice periods are always met.

Please note: it is crucial that any last minute changes to passenger and crew manifests, especially for non-EU passport holders is relayed to Coventry Airport, UK Border Agency and Warwickshire Police as required within the notice periods below.

Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are not members of the European Union (EU) but citizens of these countries have the same rights to enter, live in and work in the United Kingdom as EU citizens.

Nationals of Switzerland are also included in this definition of EEA nationals.

UK VISA Requirements

Passengers or crew from certain non-EU countries must hold UK Visas, others may not even transit through the airport without a UK Visa. Please check the list of countries to which this applies on the UK Border Agency website here.

Regardless of pre-notification, passengers or crew from these countries will have to have passports and visas verified by UK Border Agency officers through the Coventry Airport Executive Jet Centre. To facilitate the clearance of any non-EU passengers or crew on international flights, operators may also wish to complete the UK Border Agency Clearance form MBAC/1 (Landing Card) and submit it to the Airport Operations team.
